Printed Social Media Can Engage
Printed social media, you ask? I have never used the term before, but after perusing my Facebook feed today, I find it a descriptive term for eCarib TourGuide's latest social media move. A friend of mine is from Barbados and participated in the organization's #TeamTourGuide campaign.
So what caught my eye? eCarib TourGuide cleverly took a screenshot of an Instagram feed, removed the picture portion, and went to Bath Beach in St. John, Barbados to have people participate in a fun, energetic campaign. It looks as if they continue to take it on the road to locations across Barbados.
Available on eCarib's social media channels, this creative move engaged beach visitors with eCarib and the review and rating website's message and purpose, which is to make people aware of "bridge the gap between locals and tourists" to Barbados, according to the organization's Facebook page.
Clearly this has potential and works, as evidenced by the fact that it popped up on my feed and made me stop at work to write this blog post. Kudos to eCarib TourGuide for thinking outside the box on this one!
